Marrakech-- Jamaa El FnaThis photo is a good metaphor for Morocco in transition. Jamaa El Fna is the largest square in Marrakech with the busiest market I have seen. Locals and travelers mingle exchanging cultures, language, and good in an effort to find a mutual agreement. This photo shows a traditional mosque painted in the background of hundreds of locals, travelers, and merchants hustling bargaining for the best exchange. The blending of people and culture through the transactions between locals and travelers shows the international expansion of Morocco transitioning from old age into the new age. It shows Marrakech's largest market in a modern setting with pedestrians and motorcyclists interacting in the foreground of history and tradition.
